Getting to Teach Cruachán

Achill Island is the largest island off County Mayo and the west coast of Ireland. If you're driving it is approximately 4 hours from Dublin Airport, 3 hours from Shannon Airport, 2-hours from Galway or Sligo, 1.5 hours from Knock Airport, and only 1 hour from Westport or Castlebar.

You will find Dooagh Village and Teach Cruachán on the R319 just 17km from the bridge. Go past Lourdie’s Pub on the right-hand side - http://lourdies.webs.com. Teach Cruachán is 80 metres from Lourdie's pub, on the right side of the road. Gielty’s Clew Bay Pub and Restaurant is 100 metres further along, also on the right-side http://www.gieltys.com.
If you're travelling by BUS, Teach Cruachán is only 80 meters west of the bus terminus in Dooagh, opposite Lourdie's pub. See http://www.buseireann.ie for bus timetables.
Visitors travelling by TRAIN can get a bus link from Westport train station once a day (except Sundays). See http://www.irishrail.ie for timetables.
